That's a very cool way for Toei/Bandai to pay tribute to Super Deformed designs which basically kept them afloat during some rough years. For anyone who didn't know, Bandai's SD Gundam line sold extremely well during a time when their other products were underperforming against heavy hitters like Takara's Diaclone toy line.

The SD-ified version of their characters also led to the ability for their characters and toys to be licensed into video games (somewhat skirting the licenses Bandai had with anime studios). It also widened the target audiences of some franchises and made them more approachable.

Today the concept of Super Deformed characters is so common place it's just considered a cute design such as Hello Kitty and Nendoroid. It's definitely one of my favorite style of toy designs!

Yeah those little figurines are pretty cool. I like the Kamen Rider converge ones. I like how they make them for nearly every rider and most of the different forms for the good and they also include the bad Kamen Riders as well.
The converge Kamen Rider figures can also be expensive and the ones that I like are unfortunately part of a set that is somewhat expensive that I want like the set that Kamen Rider Ex-Aid Hyper Muteki is in and the Ryuki set just to name two.
