Maybe? It's, again, an approach that's very similar to Ghost, where Wataru is able to unlock the empathy of others by demonstrating his need to atone for his father. It just comes off really weird, where these two guys who've been furious at Otoya for 22 years are now, after one day, laughing off their need for vengeance like it's the most preposterous notion. That is... it's a choice the story makes that props up Wataru's kindness at the expense of story logic, and it's a tough thing to overlook. I really want to! But it's hard.
