Yeah, this felt rushed. It felt to me it wanted to end the Luna Ritual arc so soon just so we can get to the Solomon arc. I'm not surprised considering it's Moroto directing this episode, I feel as if he's one of the weaker ones for this series. Felt the same kind of way for Zero-One's ep 35 where it had Aruto go "You's free to go, Horobi." and start everything to square one, so we can have Ark-Zero come in. It's the same here, put everything back to square one so that the riders can have their go at Solomon next week. Maybe a bit dissatisfied that Kento was done dirty here with his efforts being undone
so
easily. I like Kento, okay?
That said, I did like it basically did a status check on basically most of the cast on what they're up to or what they'll be up to next arc. Ogami, Rintarou, and Daishinji are who they are still, willing to do whatever it takes even without the two's swords (tho it did feel dumb they were just there just so Sabela can take them as hostage. But I guess it's in their character not to sit around?), Ren is still on his schtick with Dezast, actually nice to see some sort of brotherhood with the two, the Shindais are definitely leaving Logos' side.
And Kento has some weight lifted off his shoulders, how little it could, now that he knows that Luna is still out there and was able to meet her anyway. Him discarding Ikazuchi for Kurayami does make it pretty obvious that the end point for his arc is taking up Ikazuchi again. Whether back as Espada or dual wielding. Hoping for the latter, but both choices are still thematically strong for his character. He either discards Kurayami and hands it to Yuri and becomes his own swordsman, free from the shackles of his father's legacy, or he takes up both swords, stays as Calibur signifying his own individuality as a swordsman while also reinstating the Calibur name to a side of good.
What's curious is Storious. He doesn't seem particularly bothered with the ritual, only being interested in the how-do with it. He's not far from achieving a similar ritual himself. Making his own Sophia as well substituting the WRBs for Alter books, he's just missing the swords, and it's not particularly hard for them to gather again since everyone will probably get together at one point. I won't be surprised if he turns out to be the final villain, hell, I'm kind hoping he is since I'm far more interested in what's he up to compared to Logos.
Yuri's back. Hi, Yuri! He never died, of course, but I thought he disappeared because he was sealed. Guess not, seems more like he was knocked out of consciousness. Hope he gets to have another talk with Kento, tho it seems like he will get that opportunity.
One last thing to notice is that Tassel technically 'lied' to Touma about Luna. He mentions the girl is needed to save the world, yet she was actually a key to destroying it.
The path to Touma's final form is clear, though. It's either they recreate the ritual Kamijou did that lets Touma get to the Great Book's table of contents and obtain the form there, or do a similar ritual to what Logos did and this form Touma. Solomon vs. Saber is gonna be crazy, though. Solomon was already stated to be god-like in power, yet it's still an incomplete form, which means we may or may not get another form for Solomon, maybe something less kitbash-y. Whatever Touma has will most likely surpass that, and that's scary.
Edit: I need a .gif of Touma's golden bridge run, both POVs, and also Sophia's cute little run towards the bros.
Edit again: When was the last time we had a kaijin (and only kaijin, no human form) that was as prominent and recurring as Dezast? The Imagins?
