Unless Ikazuchi gets a new book, going back to it would be a downgrade from Kurayami. Kento choosing Kurayami was as much a practical choice as it was personal. Like many others, I hope that him leaving Ikazuchi behind is a setup for Mei to inherit it.

Well, we know power levels don't really matter in Kamen Rider, one such Kamijou's civilian self knocking Hayato off his transformation, or Falchion keeping up with Elemental Dragon which was stronger than Emotional. I wouldn't find it too surprising if Espada is suddenly able to keep up as well, tho it'll probably look less weird if Kento's unlocked Ikazuchi's potential by then.

Tho, they could always go the Grease Blizzard route and make up a last-minute form. Jaou Dragon in the Swordriver?
