Oh, I can absolutely understand why! The show is very, very much of its time, and whilst I consider myself to be somewhat inoculated in regards to '90s pop culture, Gridman isn't really like that one series you would rush in and rescue if your house was on fire. This isn't to say I didn't enjoy watching, and I didn't develop a fondness for its cast of characters, because I absolutely did, but there were definitely times where, not being the biggest fan of the Ultraman formula, I found myself a little tired of it all.

I'd never seen anything from TokuHD before this, but I remember recently seeing the Faiz thread here, and I have to say... yeah. I mean, I don't feel that it diminished my enjoyment of the show—in fact it kind of reminded me of the subs on HK bootleg discs from the early '00s—but I can absolutely see that this is not the optimal way to watch the show, and I think you're far more sensible than I was in waiting for more competent translation.
