I can kind of tell that another writer is in charge of these episodes and he seems to be compensating for not being Inoue by really doubling down on some of the characters' key traits (Nago hates criminals but loves buttons! Wataru getting a bit more resolve is always nice and Otoya imparting valuable life lessons in the most unlikely way possible is fun (loved the bit with him increasingly slouching with each shot during the audition).

I'd agree with Nago being written in an off way for this story (He's also considerably weaker for no apparent reason? Remember when he stopped an oncoming car by stepping on it?), but I thought Otoya was pretty spot-on. He's just as sleazy as always, and even when he helps out, it's mostly just to get laid. The exception, of course, is when the subject is music. The idea that Otoya would actually help this girl get better as a violinist and then understand that she shouldn't be a violinist? Yep, works for me.
