I've seen other people point out online that he looked kind of shifty when he was talking about the police ruling Kano's death an accident.

I don't know if we'll get a definitive answer one way or another as to what happened to her (and obviously that's part of what's upsetting Yume), but I also saw another theory that like Yume did in this episode Kano may have dropped her ankh and reached to far to grab it and fell.

I think Koyomi's already moved on from her after she called him to talk about how grateful she was her husband survived and he hung up on her, but we still don't know what happened to that money she found in the flashback.
