I’ll admit, while I don’t hate Aruto per se, he can be kind of a dealbreaker for the show, especially with being a wannabe comedian in a show full of military, corporate or terrorist characters, which kind of makes him stick out like a sore thumb. And as I’m currently rewatching the show, I’m finding his support for AI as the key to humanity’s future both annoying in light of the massive flaws the show displays them as having and hilarious since I’m watching another show where the main bad guy for season 1 not only has the exact opposite opinion (that the key to mankind’s future is to destroy all AI) and he is absolutely right (every one we see is a self-centred slob at best and a racist jerk at worst).
