I've watched 31 episodes of the original Kamen Rider now and this might be the most erratic Showa Rider I've seen. The show starts off with this fascinating horror angle and a genuinely tragic slant that really surprised me. Obviously there was no way that could last though, and the show has since gone on to be really generic but fun Showa at times, and at others display levels of cracktasticness that would make Stronger blush. I'm definitely having fun, and it really is fascinating to see how OLD certain KR tropes are. Still, I almost feel like this is every subsequent Showa Rider put in a blender and it wasn't what I was expecting at all.

I do feel like I have to give a shoutout to episode 30 with its completely incomprehensible bloodsucking trilobite plot. Absolutely nothing in the story in that episode made sense, the scene cuts were bizarre, and the pacing was just weird. I was laughing basically the whole time, 10/10.
