I've never personally seen him. I think maybe he was one of the toys that just didn't come out here? I remember once meeting an American boy who had a Shockwave toy and I was stunned because I'd only ever seen him in the cartoon and here was this purple of Holy Grail of a toy that just disrupted my entire understanding of the world.

This is very much how I feel. There is a... rich and terrible culture of using descriptors in a negative way without consideration; I spent a lot of my childhood referring to things as "gay" because the term was so prevalent, so divorced from anything that there was this sense that it was fine to use this language and it clearly wasn't. So, yeah, I agree basically, and I think we've all learnt, but also I can understand why sometimes some people might find it difficult to forgive, and I don't want to force my experiences on people because, again, there's that line and we all draw it in different places.

It's so difficult, right? There's only so much Death of the Author can do for you. Oh, I know Sigh, but only from splits with other bands. I should definitely listen to them more. I think Coffins have had a long history in which they've had many different line-ups and many different styles, but I can understand how that's not exactly eye-catching at first. I really have a soft spot for them, but I'm also totally biased. I think I'm going through a phase lately were I really like things to be really slow instead of really fast which was my default setting as a teen, and Coffins sort of manage to cater to both these approaches.
