Final Fantasy XVI is probably because their taking their time with this, so they decided to withheld showing anything off because they didn't want people yelling at them to release the game, so they showed us Origin to tide us over with since it has a release window. Same with VII Remake, though also because Intergrade just came out. Anything Kingdom Hearts is probably because Union X just finished, so they probably skipped on that, which I'm fine with.

In the case of XVI, I'm betting you it and a bunch of other games weren't shown off in smaller conferences because Sony gave them a bunch of money for exclusivity trailers. Sony is listed as one of Geoff Keighly's partners for this years Summer Games Fest which is still going to be going on past June. I believe July has EA doing a hthing? But yeah Sony's been wanting to distance themselves from E3 for a while so them possibly having their own Playstation Direct in July would make sense.

As for KH, we know they have multiple teams in development alongside shuffling the mobile teams into the other teams. But Nomura did mention that we'd be light on any real news until 2022 when the anniversary kicks off.
