At least with T-Rex and Megalodon we can speculate it's like "ancien animals".

But since we have rumors of Zero-One + Giraffe, Kuuga + lion, W + Falcon etc... that's not really the case anymore (unless those are not exactly canon in the show ?).

I would like the story to be based on something like trying to REVIve ancient species. And somehow extracting the demons inside people could help ?

There's this faction called Fenix something right ? (foundation, laboratory, I don't remember exactly, sounded like a science corp). Wouldn't be surprised if there's a plot point about reviving something (Revive, Phoenix. dot connected)

EDIT : also read something about a "cactus" form that was in fact a mistranslation of some sort (but a mistranslation of what exactly ?)
