Firstly, thanks Zatyme for going first and showing everybody what to expect for the episode watch section of the discussion!

And thanks Die for sparing so much time to host this big project! It must be a lot of work and preparation for something like this.

Oh man, you're not the only one who made weird assumptions like that. Decade is full of stuff I just couldn't appreciate on the first watch, such as Wataru in his King persona here, compared to his usual introverted eccentric self in Kiva I have come to know and love.

I'll be sure to talk about my worst case of recognition failure later, although that was partially due to what I consider a problem with the show's execution, not just my lack of experience.

Takeru's and Shinnosuke's sudden friendship in HeiGen was strange though, considering how their only previous canon interaction was in Drive's final arc, where Ghost appeared exclusively in-suit. But in that movie, Takeru and Shinnosuke are best buds for some reason. I can't blame you for mistaking them for being from the same show.

Something else I don't like about Gokaiger's equivalent of Decade's Kamen Rides is how the suits don't really match up to character wearing them. Like in Decade, it's Takaiwa getting to wear all his old suits and Kuuga and Hibiki. But as an example in Gokaiger, you have Gokai Yellow's suit actor who was Gosei Pink becoming Gosei Yellow and you have Gokai Pink's suit actress who was Gosei Yellow becoming Gosei Pink. I think that's so counter-intuitive!

That's the tragedy of it. Tsukasa always excels at everything the World Of [insert Rider] needs him to do, but the thing he actually enjoys as a hobby, photography, he sucks at. Decade is a generalist, being a collection of 9 preceding Riders all with their own identities and dreams for the future and that's part of why Tsukasa feels so ostracized and rejected by the world. He can't have a dream for the future cause he doesn't even have a present or a past he can cling to. He's a passing through Kamen Rider, like a ghost who passes through his own life, without understanding his place or what he's supposed to do. That's why, unlike Zi-O which is a celebration of Kamen Rider, Decade is more like what connects Kamen Rider across spacetime, being the first major crossover in the Heisei Era and Tsukasa's adventure is also about finding out what Kamen Rider Decade means to him, separate from the legacy he's inheriting.
