At at very abstract level I think the theme is simply robots and machines. It's right there in the name Kikai. And Gears are a very core component to machinery.

I mean, I guess. But, looking at Gokaiger, which did a very similar thing, it feels a bit more purposeful. GoZyuJin/GoZyuDrill/GoZyuRex is a combination of V-Rex, Dragon Caesar, Defense Mech Raimei (Timeranger Drill Tank), TimeJet Gamma, AbarenOh, Guardian Beast Tyrannosaurus, and Daizyujin. Then, the Gokai Machines: MagiDragon (based upon the Magiranger Combination), Dekamachine Patstriker (Based upon the Dekaranger Mecha), Karakuri Warrior Fūraimaru (combines qualities of both the Karakuri Ball-summoned Mecha and Tenkuujin), GaoLion (based upon the Gaoranger Mecha), and Engine Machalcon (which is literally the child of Engine Speedor and Engine Bear RV). They use similar gimmicks/characteristics to the original Mecha and sometimes reference things that are also part of it (like how Gao GokaiOh looks like GaoIcarus and it also can combine to become Shinken GokaiOh). But I don't have the same feel comparing this to Zenkaiger. There isn't one unified gimmick that all the Robos share. There are two Separate Gimmicks that are used in two Separate Mecha. The Kamen Rider Double-like ZenkaiOh System and the Transformers Headmaster-like TwokaiOh System. The only Bridge is ZenKaijuuOh's Two Components.

Meanwhile, I wonder whether there will be more new DX Figures/Roleplay toys than just the Zenryoku Zenkai Cannon. There has to be, as the Battle Caesar Robo hasn't appeared in the DX Toyline Yet.
