Ah yes, the two parter that was one of the reasons I didn't watch Kuuga. In that, it's a fairly basic start up and while the feel of Kuuga is there from what I've read just now and learned from osmosis. There wasn't much drawing me other than "I like the cut of this suits jib". The aesthetic was cool but it didn't draw me in enough.
Overall, I completely forgot how rough Onodera was in his first appearance and I can legitimately see why people would be angry at him. So needless to say I was taken aback. But at the end, everything clicked well into a nice finale.
There's a lot of concepts thrown at you in this first arc, from mysterious fisherman who I adore a lot, Tsukasa just knowing Grongi language, a cute little white bat? Show throws a lot at you and doesn't really explain a lot, but it's still entertaining. I also kind of like the way Tsukasa sorta evolved during the arc? I'll have to see if he reverts back to it during Kiva's arc, but...
The scene in episode two where he uses both hands to put the Decadriver to his waist to form the belt. Whereas in episode three he uses just one hand to do it. I'm not sure if it's intentional but I feel it as Tsukasa finally getting his groove for fighting?
Also the other reason I didn't and haven't watched Kuuga, so people don't question me is because well... Kuuga is talked about
too well
. It's got this air around it, and just like with Tiga, I hesitate to watch it because it just has all this glowing praise and reverence and that just scares the daylights out of me. It's why I probably won't watch Kuuga or Tiga for many years to come.
