Excuse me if I just copy/pasted my thoughts on Twitter. I really just went ahead, so that I don't forget. Also by the time I post this, I slept lol.

Let's start with this. I don't hate it! In fact, I was very much okay with it for the most part. There are some GLARING issues that screwed with me for a bit and I'll explain later, but I did just go with it and enjoyed it for the most part.

Takeru got only from meh to OK for me. He's got a few good moments, but it's a bit difficult to get with him at times. Really, it's a bit hard to buy his "Wah, I'm a Ghost!" schtick, but it's not really a point where I disliked him. I did, however, watched the movies he was in so in-show Takeru was kinda whiplash. But it did make appreciate him more.

Ghost really shined for me with Makoto and Alain. Alain's got a great arc, altho he does kinda lose too much for my liking, I still love him anyway.

I like Makoto, especially on his first episodes, a neat rival to Takeru. Though, his thing with the Makoto clones dragged a bit.

But I think that's fine, considering his V-cinema and all. Tho, the experience for others was probably odd unlike me who binged Ghost.

The side characters, well, they're there, I suppose. I never really got to like any of them, except Edith, Aoi Yuu- I mean Yurusen, and Onari.



They didn't do much for me, Onari gave me a few bits of chuckles though and it's always great when he's actually played in a serious scene. Akari was really annoying at the start with her 'muh science' stuff but oh well.

I loved Onari's scenes with Javert, and it makes me appreciate Javert's appearance in Saber x Ghost all the more. Was nice to have Javert go from a chained warrior to a free man, able to let loose and be similar to Onari.

Now, let's go with the villains.

DID NOT like them, oh god. Except when it was Alain it cool.

Adel, Igor, and the Ganmaizers infuriate me so much. It's baffling that Igor and Adel stay around the show so much and basically amounted to nothing! Igor could've been killed early on and have someone else do the stuff. He does nothing, really.

Adel and the Ganmaizers are terrible. Just terrible. Boring, uncharimastic, petulant, did not deserve how he went out. He should've been dead in the 30s and have the Ganmaizers take over.

The Ganmaizers are such gorgeous suits that's completely wasted on a waste like Adel.

The Ganmaizers look amazing, they probably should have been a team and gain sentience early on and have individual personalities that contrast Takeru's thing with the 13 eyecons and the other riders.

But no, all of them share Adel's voice mostly and say the same thing.

And then Adel gets replaced by the Great Eye at the end anyway. I don't think he really deserved that final scene with him. The Great Eye's repaint suit takes the final villain slot anyways and it's SUCH a weird ending. I don't know what to make of it, really. Genm's there, that's neat.





Going back, to keep it positive, I mostly cared to what the protagonists were doing, so, I got mad about Adel a few times, but I was mostly in it for the three riders, so, it was a little fine.

I think I'll still have some fond memories of Ghost. I still enjoyed it whenever it's someone's character moment and then that rider or the main three transform, I still got smiles on my face anyway.

Ghost is... Pretty Okay! Should I recommend it? Honestly, I'd say if you could give it the time and effort to put up with it, sure! It's still an experience I'd say.



One of my other purposes for watching Ghost was because I was enamored with Saber. Hah, thought I won't talk about Saber?

I wanted to compare notes. I grew somewhat of an appreciation and a little bit of respect for Fukuda, tho I think he should really sit down and write his shows. I wanted to check out his previous work. Uhh, is it obvious I'd put Saber higher than Ghost? Called it bias, I suppose but I had a lot more enjoyment out of Saber than I did Ghost. Maybe it's the watching method, maybe I wasn't 'there' when Ghost aired like I did, but I just do.

That doesn't mean I belittle Ghost, nah, I'll still like it in the end. I'd still have a share of fond memories.

Feels like a weight's been lifted. Not a "Finally, Ghost's done!" kinda weight. More like a "I finally got to see Ghost!" Initially, I avoided Ghost because young me was so engorged with Drive's ending that I didn't want to get to Ghost and then have my happy memories be replaced with Ghost. Add that up to me reading some not so nice stuff about Ghost.

But it's nice that I finally got around to it.


Now, uhh I think that Grateful Damashii SHF is kinda looking shiny...
