I mean, Den-O spent an entire movie with the Den-Liner cafe car as a cop bullpen, so I'm not sure a slight redecoration really counts as an AR element.

Honestly, this is the origin story that makes the most sense to me. This isn't partial Den-O, or alternate Den-O. This is Den-O. Sure, there's no Ryotaro, but the tone is dead-on, and the whole point of this story is that the Imagin have maybe always been the stars of that show. It's hard to see anyone watching the Faiz episodes of Decade and then being won over by a tiny, moping man who works at a dry cleaner while being a metaphor for the way society demands people label themselves; it makes perfect sense that someone could watch these episodes and fall in love with Den-O The Series.
