It feels he is a genuinely heroic person but who gets trashed by circumstances (fail Henshin in Ep1 and lab attack by deadmans before the show).

I hope he will have more relevance in the story than someone like Utsumi in Build, becoming a late, forgettable rider

I don't know if I feel like he's a genuinely heroic person. I kinda got a feeling like he'd be similar to characters like Yaguruma from Kabuto or Nago from Kiva. Both of them are presented as heroic, highly admirable at first, but they turn out to have severe psychological issues. The failure potentially can push him into that path too, like Yaguruma being edgelord as KickHopper after his downfall.
