So the purpose of this thread should be simple. When reading fanfiction (be it yours or someone else’s), do you just read the characters with your own voice, or do you have a rough idea of who you’d cast as them if the fic was produced as a screenplay? And if the latter, then you list your choices.

For my current project, Power Rangers AVX, I don’t have an English cast in mind (since I try to keep my casting realistic. If somebody on my list dies, they get replaced for instalments released long enough after their death), beyond the guy voicing Malgramon also portraying Miles Gorman (spoilers as to why will not be published here). But I do have a Japanese dub cast in mind, since all I have to focus on there is who would be reading the dialogue rather than who’d be physically playing the part.
