Just some context here: watching these episodes in three parts is a tad distracting, but well worth it.
I absolutely adore this show two episodes in! For some ungodly reason I'm reminded of Zenkaiger, on how this show is just so bombastic and fun, that I can't help but love it.
We have the opening with some really... interesting scenes, as people are pointing out. George observing bacta tanks containing the Riders (is that Horobi on the far left?), presumably Ikki looking like an evil businessman and probably going berserk, matched with the opening, which I find neat how Reiwa's openings are slightly different from the norm when it comes to openings, and Revice's is certainly growing on me, but I'll probably wait for the full version before deciding which one takes gold so far.
I honestly really like Vice, he's not too annoying, is certainly a colorful one, and I actually kind of like his 4th wall breaking? I don't know, I liked those old movies with the one character who would talk to the audience, but also because it's the perfect parallel for Vice, whom no one but Ikki can interact with, almost as a way to turn the tables, and quite possibly because Ikki's dad's like a YouTuber which probably influenced him.
Anyway, I really loved the Vistamps being able to control things like bikes, which gives them purpose to stay around late season to spice up the action, Daiji's helmet bearing the name "Kabuto," FaizPhones, Vice using W's signature pose, the Remixes, the messageboards (Thank you, Gashatfreak for showing these off), the way the monsters-of-the-week worked with the plot, especially how they used both willingly and unwillingly becoming monsters, and
a flipping Tyrannosaurus Rex Rider Kicking!!!
It's just too good.
I also realize now that the Vistamp monsters are made to look like Showa Kaijin, which is really nice. Also, Origami King Ghidorah! I don't want to go on for too long, but the characters and setting are really shaping up to be a good season, and I'm enjoying what they've brought so far.
Next Week: Looks like the Climax came early.
