Fun thing about this one: When I first watched Decade, I was at the point where I'd seen all of Neo-Heiseis; a few Showas (Amazon plus the three post-RX movies); and Kabuto, Kiva and Den-O. Kuuga through Hibiki was like... I knew of them, I'd seen pictures and snippets on social media and stuff, there were crossovers like the taisens and the best Ex-Aid special ever (which one? good question! it's a hard choice!), but I was intentionally not learning much about them so it wouldn't be much as a spoiler and they could surprise me. I was willing to take learning a few things about them through osmosis, but I wanted to discover all their stuff through actually watching them, you know?

All that is to say that I had never seen any of the Riders in this. Ever. And so I thought they were completely original Riders made up for Decade.

Like it kinda tracked! They looked pretty generic and samey to me; the belts seemed very simple and also generic; I didn't pick up on the cards and nothing else about them screamed Blade's aesthetic to me from what I'd seen... it wasn't until, well, I think actually not long before I watched Blade itself that I learned these guys existed before! It's so funny to me that even before I watched the movie and didn't care for it, I found every element of it presented to me prior so generic that I figured there was never a story crafted around them before.
