Neat! And, yeah, it's yet another Showa reference for the Heisei Anniversary Season. Certainly would've made me happier if this series had stuck to Heisei, but that's just wishful thinking at this point.

The toy you build out of the magazine the DVD you're watching came with is a detail that basically made me forget how story-light the middle section of this HBV is. And Onodera builds it onscreen! Sometimes so badly that Dai-Shocker turns his friends into mindless slaves of a magazine mascot, but... Onodera still builds it onscreen!
