I agree with you, like I said I think it's likely a pun on avatar, but my understanding is that the Kanji used for "Ava" means "violent", if it was the word "Avatar" only, then the "ava" part would usually be in katakana

So the meaning is sort of weird, it's basically if the word "Violent" was turned into a boy's name? (My Japanese knowledge is pretty limited and I'm mostly getting my info from others who know more than I do about it, but I think this is correct lol)

I just don't know if it's possible to translate the pun at the same time
