I wonder if anyone remembers that Godzilla and the Universal Classic Monsters did this way before Marvel...

So I saw this title, and just had to chime in. I think the MCU got into everybody's heads with the whole "shared universe" thing, and as TokuKnight mentioned earlier, it's the first movie that has to stand on it's own before anything else can take off. Here, they're just putting the wagon in front of the horse, making bold statements about catching lightning in a bottle.

For example, the Universe Classic Monsters in what is known as The Dark Universe, tried to establish that with the 2017 Mummy (never seen it, nor plan to) and look how that turned out. Then there's DC, and they still can't make it work (though given the money they're making, even if it's bad they'll think they're doing it right), heck even Marvel's losing it's appeal, or maybe it's just me.

The point is, the whole "shared universe" concept is something that's just being driven into the ground because everybody thinks that just because the MCU is popular, they can do it too, whilst ignoring the fact that they're just making a money trap that not a whole lot of people will care about. It's like making a cinematic universe out of Looney Tunes characters and you just want to watch "The Bugs Bunny Movie," but you have to watch the "Porky Pig Movie," "The Daffy's Daffy Ducking Movie," and the "Wile-E Coyote Trilogy" to understand the whole thing and have no interest in any of those movies, or having said movie as the debut for said cinematic universe, and the whole movie's just trying to say "This is a Cinematic Universe! Just like Marvel!"

It's times like this that I'm glad I'm not trying to make any shared universe with any of my projects (too much headache). But that's just my two cents on the subject, and although I have no huge attachment to Power Rangers, but I can say that I did at least watch it when I was young, so I do have some sentiments on that, but if anyone else is on board, I hope you can find enjoyment out of this venture.
