Man, this movie's plot reminded me that W did pioneer maybe the longest-lasting Kamen Rider story generator: the collectible that the hero needs to defeat, recycle, and reuse. Like, the Gaia Memories are the Ur Collectible, the template that gets used in OOO, in Drive (sort of), in Gaim, in Ghost, in Ex-Aid, in Build... I mean, I assume it keeps going into other shows, but even if it doesn't, that's the better part of ten years.

Of all the things W might've inaugurated, the whole Rescued Collectibles thing is the most franchise-defining.

(Decade had this sort of, but it wasn't like there was a random Kuuga card that was wreaking havoc or anything.)

I will be sure to give it a shot! I am this close to buying an illicit USB drive from a shady-looking executive, so anything that keeps me from that choice is worth trying.

Also, thanks for posting those previous A to Z thoughts! Seems like we both had a good time with a well-crafted summer movie.

Eternal is a really good movie Rider! I'm not sure where I'd put him in my rankings (my memory's too poor for that), but he's visually and thematically arresting, and either one of those is usually enough to carry a movie.
