I mean it has happened in the franchise- it's just they usually end up becoming horrors not long after- therefore becoming "fallen knights" where their horror form is usually a corrupted version of their armor (remember that guy from the "divine flame" movie?)
There is one very well known example of this in the live action shows- though I'd rather not give spoilers for one of the main shows, a film and a spin-off by mentioning his name (long time fans probably know who I'm talking about)
