It could be that dad is as innocent as he appears to be, but only because he's a separate personality that emerged in a piece of Gif, kinda like a certainly character in Build. If so, than I expect a tragic even where they merge back together and his personality is taken over, kinda like his son actually, only for the siblings to bring back their dad's personality toward the end.
