Here's a post with the Tweets in question,
which I'm still a little baffled by.

Man, you've gotta wonder how many of us
immediately
wanted to make that joke after hearing that as a reason for not adapting Kyuranger. I kind of don't want to further discussion of Simon Bennet's weirdly candid #hot take comments about Kyuren and LuPat, because they don't seem worth putting stock in. Having looked him up real quick, it seems he's only been an executive producer starting with Dino Fury, so I guess it's entirely possible he legitimately has a hardline stance on these things, but... man, I think he's underestimating how creative Power Rangers can be, and it makes me sad seeing that attitude? You could find ways to keep the cast of a Kyuranger adaptation trim if you wanted it hard enough (have the obligatory comedy duo be Gold and Silver! That's already 2 more Rangers with the same amount of characters!), and in LuPat's case... did nobody ever tell him what they did with Lost Galaxy? Or how Megaforce was never about angels
or
pirates? If you don't want cops and robbers, you can still do something cool with the two teams concept,
if you want it hard enough.
Which is why, again, it's mostly just weird to hear an executive producer explicitly shooting down things like this. It's understandable to not feel it's worth putting the time in to bend a Sentai into the shape you want it when you can pick and choose to do the straightforward ones about dinosaurs and whatnot that don't require so much reworking (and to be fair, some Kyurangers DID end up notably thinner than others), but I don't know why you'd ever explicitly rule out the possibility of a fun and creative idea coming along for a show,
or why you'd just casually be doing it on social media.

He only directly insults Garu
before
finding out his backstory, which leads to Lucky getting punched out on a beach, so I don't think the episode is exactly trying to say his brazen attitude is ideal or anything. Once Garu fills him in, Lucky makes the more specific argument that Garu should be
more
motivated to fight for change because of what he had to go through, which is basically saying he should channel those feelings into something positive, rather than telling him he shouldn't feel that way at all. There's definitely an aspect to it where Lucky can't grasp the concept of inaction, but again, I don't think the show actually wants to encourage the viewer to act 100% like Lucky does at all times. You might end up with an angry wolfman dropkicking you that way!
