I think the key reason, for me, why I don't at all mind how stupid the actual Showa vs. Heisei conflict is boils down to it not ending that way? For me, it's trying to have its cake and detonate it, too, you know? The Showa guys spend the entire film blaming the Heisei guys for everything, then ten minutes saying Naw We Cool, then five more minutes saying Psych You Suck LOL, then two minutes saying For Real We Cool. I don't... I'm not sure I'd want their friendship after all of that? I definitely feel like they've exhibited the sort of behavior that even Kusaka would find too emotionally manipulative.
