You're downplaying their extremely tone deaf tweet. Apparently, you don't follow their Twitter feed but you know enough to run damage control for their awful tweet. If they had just said something like, "We understand it might not be what people were expecting but it was out of our hands. We hope you'll support it and if you do, it will help future releases to come in the future." This isn't rocket science. There's nothing wrong with being transparent. People aren't stupid so saying stuff like, "it's really annoying when some of us understand why this is as it is" is super condescending. If you're typing stuff like that, do not be surprised when you're treated like a shill.

They aren't doing charity work, they're asking for money. I'm gonna criticize them all I want, I have no reason to give them a pass.
