It feels super appropriate for Revice how quickly the issue of Vice "betraying" Ikki with his newfound freedom was resolved. Like, I fully expected that the twist of Jack Revice would be that it's actually a way to further
build
trust between the two of them, rather than break it down, but I also expected there to be a little of the latter happening to get to the former. But no, instead, everyone in this episode is so dead-set on pretending to be less alright than they are, between Vice, Aguilera, and even Kagerou, of all people, that Daiji, Sakura, and Ikki all figured out what's going on without too much hassle.
The problem with that approach
could
end up being an episode that lacks in meaningful drama, but the show is smart to shift the focus while it's doing this onto the shady nature of Weekend, reframing the issue of Jack Revice to be less about Ikki and Vice's relationship, and more about who put them in this situation to begin with, and why. As is generally the case for Revice, it's a really well-rounded episode of Kamen Rider. You've got the character-building for Aguilera being made explicit, Live and Evil in one episode, Lovekov being unusually active (probably trying to steal Vice's popularity, no doubt), and, on that note, Vice being surprisingly cool. Shibasaki's direction is still really felt in the action, too. That finisher on the Shark Deadman in particular once again demonstrates that he has a Sugihara-level talent for making extremely dynamic visuals using composite shots.
