At the risk of being one of those "just stop being sad!" people, life really is what you make of it. What helped me when I was at my lowest was to think of what I truly wanted out of life. After that, instead of chasing daily serotonin highs, I put in work to achieve my actual goal. If I'm ever depressed, feeling worthless, or wondering what the point is, I just put in more work towards my goal. It's not "fun" per se, but I feel accomplished.
You mentioned "racist," so I assume you had some sort of unfortunate experience (to put it lightly.) So think: is there something you can do to prevent others from experiencing the same thing? Maybe join an advocacy organization, start an online campaign, write articles addressing the issue, or something else? And even if whatever you do feels insignificant at the time, it'll build.
Of course, you're in control of what you do, and you don't have to do any of that if you don't want.

thanks dude,but this is not at all any help understanding or dealing with untreatable severe depression. Now,at 57, I’m trying desperately to stay alive, not deal with nice platitudes.
But thanks for the concern, none of this matters anyways. All just a crock of unfair hypocrisy in the entirety of the world. Easier just to walk into traffic with my eyes closed
