Either James Cain or Raymond Chandler (both have been credited) was reportedly once asked what he thought about Hollywood ruining his books in the film adaptations. He allegedly said something to the effect of "Nothing's happened to the books. They're right here on the shelf."

I bring that up mostly because I love Chandler and will take any excuse to bring him up in conversation, even if there's a decent chance that the anecdote is misattributed to him. It's also probably not a bad thing to keep in mind with how Zi-O approached it time travel gimmick.

That said, I was never a huge fan of the show's being erased either. Sometimes it makes for an interesting story, but sometimes - like we've seen with Sento and Banjou already - it can make it feel like the returning actors aren't even playing the same characters. I have a lot that I want to say about this and how the show handles it as it goes on, but I fear that anything I even vaguely allude to will give away too much.
