It is interesting to argue if they encourage or discourage playstyles.

Bleed works very well in this game, so people who abuse this will find the game much easier. Is it encouraged by the developers to do so because of that? It kind of ruins the appeal of the game so you won't have as much fun with it IMO, but it is possible.

Similarly, if you neglect basic elements of the game, liking rolling out of harm?s way, is your playstyle discouraged? You can still do it.

See I use a very basic armor, the posterboy one, it?s not very good. I like the way it looks. I use a very basic sword, I like the way it looks. And I use a very basic shield because I don?t use shields aside from parrying anymore. I don?t use the new summon mechanic very often either. I just want to go in and whack stuff with my sword until they are dead.

Do I have a harder time? I think I do. But I like it this way, and I always succeed sooner or later. That's why I don?t feel pressured into needing to adapt to a specific playstyle, I can ignore game mechanics and still win, but I need to adapt in a different way than rearranging equipment, in this case be ready to lose a lot in order to learn patterns. But it is possible.
