That explanation by Uncle killed me. Of all the weird ways this show has tried to put a happy face on Time Dictator, I think Uncle suggesting that someone couldn't possibly have subjugated an entire nation unless people thought they were a good guy... like, that is hysterical. If you said that in a 2nd Grade history class, you'd probably be laughed out of the room. And this show just lets him say it! Mostly unquestioned!

Uncle Tokiwa was one of my favorite characters out of my inital watch, but on my rewatch, I'm surprised how....not necessarily a bad character, but he's really used rather strangely? The kids don't know what's the next step? A slightly ham-fisted tangent that goes on a little too long will do! Hoping I can remember what I liked about him soon.
