I would love to hear how/why Takeru's hair color becomes an important plot point in a novel. That sounds nuts.

There's an interaction between Ryu and Alicia which takes place before Takeru is born, where it's implied that Takeru's and Argos' blonde hair was inherited from their great grandfather.
