There's a different, maybe better energy to it (and it makes the defeat of the Another Rider a bit less pyrrhic, considering the Heisei Riders are totally depowered), but it doesn't really do a ton with the Heisei theme of the season. You could sorta do a forward-looking time travel season at any other time?

I don't feel like he was really given a fair chance? I don't disagree that he comes off a little underdeveloped here (fairly typical for Another Riders on this series), but I sort of... like, I have faith in him, just like Sougo. There's a good Shinobi story waiting for us someday, I just know it.
