Amazingly, I managed to make it through this two-parter without mentioning Ryuki beyond the compare and contrast, which I’m continuing here.

Back in Episode Final, Dark Shinji hated his real self purely because he was alive, and wanted to hijack his life so he could be alive. Yet here, he’s fighting on behalf of his other self, misguidedly punishing those who “abandoned” ORE Journal.

And while this two parter may be the only TV appearance of Mirror Zi-O, he does show up again in the novel (where in one timeline, the Grey Woz I mentioned a while back arranges for him to take full control of Sougo so he can use him as a puppet king of what he terms “The Third History”. I’ll reveal more details in the future, since most of them are kind of spoilers)

Anyway, now onto my main feature.
