Todoroki doesn't like him, and blames him for Tsutomu going bad, but I got the overall sense that Kiriya was still out there doing his job as an Oni. He's not As Good As Hibiki Was, which is sort of what this story is talking about, but he's probably taken out a Makamou or two.

This will probably not surprise you, but I much prefer the Hibiki approach to the Agito approach. I like when Zi-O's willing to grapple with messy conclusions and complicated characters. Having a two-parter that's basically Shouichi Is Awesome... I mean, yeah, he is, absolutely. I love that dude! But I'd've been over the moon if it'd been a story about Hikawa's imposter syndrome, or Ozawa's struggles with male-dominated professions, or how long Ryou's indefatigable pessimism can really last, or or or. I like stories where Legends teach our cast something; I love stories where our cast teaches Legends something.

There are precious few musical numbers in the full Hibiki series! Like, that opening one, and that's sort of it? It was always weird to me that the show with Riders who use musical instruments never felt much like a Musical show.
