Funnily enough, it being like a non-proper debut and so sudden and like very "This is really only here to get everyone the hell out" is what sold me on Hikaru being Over Demons for a bit. Especially since this did not feel like a "We need someone to turn the tide" once Gifu came into the picture. So it being Weekend Kid just clearing a path and getting everyone away was probably what made me alright with it.

I also feel like the sound leak for the Demons Driver made everyone think Over Demons is more important than it really was intended to be by the show (which is seemingly just an alternate version of Demons with barely better stats). And that led to people being disappointed by its design.

Idk, maybe its just me, but while I get the whole "Want a character to root for" thing. Seeing people say how "Hikaru stole Hiromi's redebut" a few times in different variations feels less "rooting for" and edges more into toxic for me and I just dislike those vibes in general.

That being said, I think the most baffling but interesting thing about this episode is that... despite getting his ass kicked, being injured and taken likely somewhere safe, Daiji chooses to go back and sulk at the battleground as night falls. It's such a weird scene that I'm like fascinated by purely because like "Why would you go back there?!".
