It was a thing that super bothered me when the show seemed to go all-in on Swartz, which made it extra special to have the show re-establish Oma Zi-O as the real threat. I'll never ever care about some dopey guy trying to do an Earth Smash-Em-Up (or whatever) as much as I do the idea that Sougo needs to face a daily existential battle with his own fears. That's just such a solid concept for a Kamen Rider show, the idea that the darkness inherent in a Kamen Rider's powers is the Kamen Rider's future self. So good!

I wonder if I'll feel a little better about Swartz, in retrospect. Him as some weird distraction from the ways Sougo's become a better man, the catalyst for Sougo to become his best self instead of the required despot... I don't know, maybe someday I'll like Swartz.
