I think they tried to squeeze too much in to this story, by making it Geiz's origin and his extra final form debut and New Sougo's and Tsukuyomi's origin, even though their only contribution here is being Geiz's friends instead of having their own reasons. There was no commitment to doing this origin story for everybody. Maybe there should've been a time skip, where Kamen Rider Zi-O, Geiz and Tsukuyomi are already active after getting their powers offscreen, so you could just pick up Geiz's development from there and leave the rest to the imagination.

I can see what you're saying, but, man, I would not want to go this whole movie without seeing Geiz fighting alongside his friends (and Woz), and I also wouldn't want to miss his friends geeking out over their own Ridewatches. And, yeah, this movie didn't really focus on the rest of Team Zi-O, but I don't think they need to? They're Geiz'z secondaries in this movie; it's okay to minimize their arcs in favor of his.
