Okay, now it's confirmed. This show isn't written by Inoue. Whoever it might be uses his name, or looks like him, but it’s not him. As if last week's resolution of the subplot between Taro and Sonoi wasn't dubious enough, now this episode moves forward both Tsubasa's girlfriend plot by finally having him meet Miho as well as advancing Tsuyoshi's growing obsession with his wife’s wellbeing?

These are all things that needed to be shelved for at least 30 more episodes to be addressed before the finale. Anything else isn't Inoue. Nice try Toei, but you can't fool a seasoned Faiz endurer.

Anyways, joke aside, this was fun. I like the new guy already, simply for how obsessed with being a hero he is, he reminds me of Misao from Zyuohger, a bit of a dork who will probably have a difficult time integrating himself into the team, but for the right reasons.

I kind of wished they left Taro dead for this episode, to make his return more impacting, however: I realized that by using the points to bring him back temporarily they avoided a plot hole that viewers much more attentive than me would’ve caught, and they can advertise their fantastic DX toy again. Nothing wrong with that.

Plus, I realized that Taro's return dangling in front of their faces, that their efforts being rendered useless and essentially seeing him die twice will only further affect the companions, and thus make Taro's true return even more heart-warming. We can see a bit of it in the teaser already.

But yeah, next week is looking super fun: Out favorite pink pheasant turns into a bad guy, the new Ranger makes his debut, and Taro comes back for real! I can't wait.
