Yeah, like... I had some fun with this episode. Everything up to the first Metal Cluster Hopper scene was delightful. (It is apparently very easy to barge into the private office of a CEO and get him to find you a husband?) But the mounting frustrations of both the Ebii and Aruto plots just wore me down by the end.

I don't love Ebii potentially ending up with her jealous and possessive friend, but I'm reminded of a joke me and some friends have when we see a particularly toxic couple: At least they're only ruining one relationship. This horrifying outcome is maybe best for the world at large!

It's one of those episodes where I second-guess myself for being too critical about it because I ultimately did have fun with it, but I just can't ignore the rough patches since they're also trying to flesh out MCH during all this.

I get it! It feels almost churlish to look at an episode this devoted to comedy and go But Character Logic, for sure. But lowering standards is a weird admission of failure, like we no longer expect the show to do more than one tone correctly. This show has executed so many difficult stories correctly that I think it's okay to call it out when it gets a little sloppy.
