Aside from that, Match (coming from Build) seems to be one of the more underhanded Humagears, he employs extreme methods to get the job done in mercilessly verbally abusing Ebii, as well as purposely corrupting himself to Ark so that Teruo displays his 'worthiness' for Ebii in front of her eyes by putting his life on line for her. It does succeed at the cost of his own life, but damn that's an overboard one to pair someone. More like showing that there can be Humagears who while not evil, aren't exactly safe due to some of his extremist tendencies in Match.

This is just the genre of the story, though. It's a wacky romantic comedy where a woman has a crush on a guy who doesn't have any interest in her, so he has to theatrically rebuff her so she'll fall for the "right" guy. Everything Match does is fine for the genre of the story.
