Like it might have been too late to make Geats less gun themed overall, but I feel like they would have not included a rifle in the poster if they were worried about reminding people of the assassination?

Probably decided to take a chance and ignore the event until there is criticism. I think as long as no one is shot during a public speech, the similarity is not too noticeable.
