The decision to focus on the supporting cast -- besides being entertaining and poignant just on the merits -- is also super important to increasing the drama of Aruto's abdication of his heroism. Like, his dream came true. He created a world where humans and Humagears opted to bridge their differences and live in peace, and it was shepherded in by people who looked to Aruto on how to be better people. But he can't appreciate it. That's such a gut-punch, you know?
