- The five Robotaro Gears are didn't have interesting background and origin. I personally think the story become more interesting if Donbrothers are trying to get Robotaro Gears by completing some missions. If we compare Don Onitaijin's debut episode with Go-Buster Oh's debut episode, I think Go-Buster Oh's debut episode is more interesting because the Go-Busters need some of the efforts to obtain Go-Buster Oh formation.

All of this makes more sense with behind the scenes knowledge. As others have said in this and other recent episodes, we're currently in a time when episodes aren't being watched as much. The show is taking this as an opportunity to do the goofy, self contained plots that it won't have time for later. As for the Robotaro Gears, Inoue doesn't care at all about integrating the toys. He just wants to tell his story, toy sales be damned. We're lucky we even got that one line from Jiro foreshadowing him getting his giant robot.
