Well, it is finally over. This is my third time watching a KR show live, after doing Ex-Aid and Build quite a few years ago. Revice is easily my least favorite show I watched live, but it wasn't entirely without merit.


Things I liked:

• The family theme was unique for Rider.
• Most of the suits were really great looking!
• A lot of the characters had at least one really strong moment.

Things I didn't like:

• The show had a hard time juggling its large cast, which resulted in even most of the more interesting characters simply not having enough focus.
• The pacing was all over the place, some plots overstayed their welcome by a long shot while others felt like they were being speedrun.
• I don't think Ikki really clicked with me as a protagonist.
• The cinematography of the show and the use of CGI often made for really busy and hard to parse fights.

If I had to sum up Revice in one word, I would say "inconsistent". I'd give it a D+. Maybe I'll come back to it eventually and binge watch it to see if I like it better that way. I think Kinoshita did a poor job with what was generally an exemplar concept for a show, but if he ever came back to write another I'd be interested to see how he would potentially improve. I'm pretty excited for Geats next week though, the protagonist's cameo at the end of Revice makes him seem like such a prick and I sort of love it.
