It's got to suck for anybody watching the recent Donbrothers episode who hasn't watched Revice yet. The ending gets casually spoiled in the "previously on" part! Bad move, Toei.

It's a series filled to the brim with people who have to learn to face themselves. A lot of them go about it in a more traditional, metaphorical sense than the Igarashi family does, but everyone has to do the hard work of forgiving themselves at some point. That's not a lesson I see from a show like this every day, even though it's maybe an important one to teach. It's not merely okay to love yourself; it's downright
healthy
.
I would like to add here that while it's often necessary to accept someone's flaws if you really love them, it's important to exercise moderation, as is the case with most things in life. Some flaws are innocuous, but more severe flaws should be addressed before they cause harm to others. Love needs to be shown in a healthy non-toxic way, whether to oneself or to others, or it can make a person ignorant to the harmful effect of such flaws, to the point of disregarding any constructive criticism. Love is not inherently healthy if it lacks temperament and I wanted to bring that up since it's easy for a moral about love to be misunderstood or taken too far.

Hey, we got the same ranking! While there are some things Revice did that I appreciated, it was often a frustrating and depressing experience for me, so I don't intend to rewatch either. Kinoshita's not exactly the worst writer ever, but I think he has a lot of room for improvement, especially regarding his poor treatment of side characters and lack of focus on the protagonists.

Damn, that's a jaw-dropping number. I heard that Olteca's co-operation in Battle Familiar was motivated by a reduced sentence, but if it's still triple digit then he can't cash in on that unless he has like, Ryusoul Tribe longevity, or something similar. There's also a rumor about a Juuga VS Olteca special if the Revice twitter page hits a specific milestone, so I think maybe he can get out somehow.
